Project Title

Everything I Wanted Music Video

A girl walking around on the beach to self reflect about her life to escape her nightmare. However while she was self reflecting, her nightmares hit her back. Her nightmares revolve around her depressed state which includes real life scenarios like jumping off a bridge and ending her life. In her mind, she saw that no one cares for her and no one loves her. The people that she considers her loved ones don’t treat her the same way. She finds her reprieve through the form of music which she listens to to "escape".

This project was quite a challenge for us because being post-production people, we have little knowledge about production. But the opportunity to dabble in it helped us empathise with the struggles of our counterparts who do the filmming.

Enhancing Compositing

This project is to effectively manipulate image processing in the Nuke 3D environment. So in this case, we create 3D objects and lighting in Nuke. In order to have it looking realistic, we further enhance the image to make it as realistic as we can.

It was fun and interesting to create 3D objects and lighting effects in Nuke but the challenge was to get it realistic looking through careful enhancement techniques!

LR Project 02 - Interior Project

Create a interior room design using the assets shared between the class. Assets includes chairs, sofa, shelfs and other items. Everyone will be assigned an asset to texture and render and these assets will then be shared within the class to create a room in Maya. After placing the assets in the room, everyone will render their own version of a room.

It was hard trying to find the right settings and textures to use but we got a good end result. This project was collaborative in that everyone in the class would contribute an asset. It gave us an insight into how production companies collaborate in the real world.

Module

Motion Graphics

Motion Graphics when well executed can elevate a project to another level of refinement. Students learn to create affective visual rhythms in both 2D and 3D environments using software such as Procreate, After Effects and Maya.

Taking inspiration from the pandemic, I used an illustrative art style to feature a Japanese warrior wearing her kitsune mask before going out to war - a direct juxataposition of us wearing surgical masks to combat COVID 19.

With vibrant and dynamic motion graphics, I aimed to portray that dull feeling of being confined in an endless cycle. Perhaps this is an allrgory of our current situation - caught in the middle of a pandemic - but still needing to power through.
