From pre-production to post-production, students stretch their imagination to bring their works to life using a wide array of filmmaking tools, industry-standard equipment and the latest post-production facilities.

Captone Projects

In their final year, students form teams and apply knowledge and skills gained from their earlier foundation years to discover their voice as young filmmakers.

In A Heartbeat

This film revolves around Michelle, a widow, who struggles to find her own happiness after the passing of her husband, Vincent. She meets Andy in a dance class who she felt an attraction towards. Through several ups and downs, she follows a path where she finds uncertainty, love and most importantly herself.

Sonder

Disarmed by the loss of his wife, Steven begins a journey with his wife’s items across the island in order to burn them as offerings. During his journey, he encounters various people, all with their own stories. Steven then sees a mirror of himself in Anna and ultimately finds the true closure he needs.

Tit for Tat

Three months prior, Wei Jie, Jayden’s young uncle, accidentally broke Jayden’s beloved toy train. Despite Wei Jie being absolved of any wrongdoing by his parents, Jayden harbored a desire for revenge. Seizing the chance, Jayden meticulously executes his plan to expose Wei Jie’s darker side. Overcoming numerous obstacles, Jayden succeeds in his quest, yet he couldn’t escape the weight of guilt for the actions he takes to get there.

I Love the Adrenaline But I Don’t Love You

To escape her uncomfortable home environment, Rei seeks a thrilling romance with Leon, the older cafe manager whom she is infatuated with. As their relationship accelerates, a push and pull ensues, which forces Rei to figure out what she truly wants with Leon.

Threshold

After losing faith in the death penalty, Selvam resigns from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB). However, his convictions are challenged when a serial killer targets drug traffickers, employing the death penalty as justification for the murders.

INKED

Inked delves into the life of a former drug abuser, marked by two convictions before reaching a turning point in his life. Shahrom reflects on his bitter past,which began in his youth when he was first introduced to drugs. Through his story, we uncover the truth that led Shahrom down this destructive path that intertwines with his profound love for music and art. Told with raw honesty, his story serves as an inspiration for those battling against addiction.

National Day Parade

National Day Parade 2023 was a really eye opening journey for us. We got to be behind the scenes (BTS) for all of the shows and rehearsals during the three months of preparation. From pre-production to post, we got to work with industry people and learn along side them to create videos for the appreciation function which was shown in the Istana.

The Hollow Men

‘The Hollow Men’ is a short film about an uncle, who is a dying artist, embarking on his final audition. The Nurse, a young and devout woman, follows him through the day, exploring the parallel relationship between artistry and religion.

My Only Sunshine

This touching film pays tribute to the director’s childhood best friend. The story follows Maya and Klaire, a caretaker and a child who share a special bond. Through love, loyalty, and forgiveness, they navigate heartbreak and growth. This film captures the power of enduring connections that have shaped the director’s life.

Advanced Production

Advanced Production harnesses students' ability to learn, contribute, and reflect within a cooperative group work environment. This provides an opportunity to students who have mastered the fundamental technical principles and practices of filmmaking, to explore their creative and technical knowledge by applying their skills in all aspects of film production, from start to end.

Birthmarks

Having grown up with older asian parents, Joy and Jordon navigate the repercussions of their parents’ rocky journey into parenthood, unravelling a tale of generational trauma, regret and resilience. Birthmarks is a short documentary capturing four family members’ perspectives on reconciling senior parents’ expectations and sacrifices amidst the complexities of familial dysfunction.

VIJAY

The film delves into the narrative of migrant workers in Singapore, accentuating the profound sacrifices they endure. It centres on Vijay, a labourer dedicated to supporting his family in India. Beyond his toil, Vijay is an artist, utilising poetry to articulate his struggles and sacrifices.

Wai Po’s Coming Over

Grandma is coming from Ipoh to stay with Shin Mun and her family while her relatives search for a caretaker back home. Determined to find out more about her present and past, she tries to make up for the time lost due to language and long-distance barrier.
